The holidays can be super stressful. There seems to be so much pressure to enjoy yourself that it can be especially hard for those of us struggling with mental illness.
I just found this excellent mental health Tumblr tonight called Mental Illness Mouse. It’s written by eight different people with personal experience and mental health knowledge. You can read more about them here on their FAQ Page.
They have some amazing links and resources on their site. Here are two you must check out:
If you are familiar with Tumblr, you know that people repost things from other websites and also reblog posts from other Tumblr accounts. So this Tumblr I’m linking you to tonight links to and reblogs information from all over, so please see the respective sources if you’re looking for the origin of information.
Two reblogged items from Mental Illness Mouse come from Something-Fishy.org, a site focused on eating disorder recovery. These tools can be used for any self-harming behaviours, however, so check them out. Please visit these two links and bookmark them!
One of my goals for Daisies and Bruises in 2014 is to expand our Help Section in a huge way, adding more hotlines, crisis websites, coping tools and all around helpful resources. Thank you, Mental Illness Mouse for the inspiration and motivation!
Merry (early) Christmas, everyone and happy holidays all around, whatever you celebrate! Upcoming posts are going to be about Lisbeth, 2013 in review, 2014 resolutions, and a craft project to keep us all mindful of good things in the months to come. So come back, subscribe, share and take care!
I love you!
